In our m&b fundamental journey you have already received some information about our understanding of leadership. There are many leadership models that deal with the most important tasks and responsibilities of managers. You have already learned about our “Leadingsda” model. It covers the four main aspects of leadership:

  • Taking on formal roles,
  • Giving direction to colleagues,
  • Managing the organization and
  • Becoming effective from within.

In this graphic you will find some examples of leadership tasks for each of the aspects.

Distinguish between complex & complicated situations

However, in addition to the tasks, it is also important that you are able to distinguish when to choose which leadership style to effectively solve your challenges. For this purpose, you got to know the Stacey Matrix in the fundamental journey and already had the opportunity for a self-assessment.

Complexity self-assessment

This questionnaire should help you to better distinguish between complex and complicated work situations. Based on this understanding you can then decide which methods and tools might improve your work.

Methods that can help you

The methods and approaches that are effective for complicated and complex problems differ fundamentally. To enable your organization to deal with both appropriately, it is helpful to be able to make this distinction with confidence and then have the right methods and tools at hand for the situation. During the journey, we will give you many hints on which methods from the methodbox can help you to put the know-how into practice.

The learning areas of the Leadership Journey

To successfully manage the exemplary work packages as a manager, you need the corresponding know-how, experience and skills. We have identified a number of learning areas that will provide you with the appropriate qualification. Our content is therefore structured in a modular way.

It consists of:

  • A Journey that is run through completely – with various input, exercises, reflections and quizzes (shown here in purple)
  • Optional deep dives to learn even more about specific topics in the feedback journey
    (shown here in pink)
  • More content, but not available to you now in your Journey (shown here in yellow).

Currently there are two modules of the leadership journey available. Your journey starts with “Feedback Culture”. In 2024, you will be able to continue with the next module on “Result Driven Collaboration”.

Please talk to us, if you are interested in a specific module for your organization. We would be happy to design something for you.
